Individual Therapy
Individual therapy begins with a two-session evaluation in which we discuss where you are versus where you want to be. Together we’ll clarify what you want to understand about yourself and what you want to change behaviorally. We’ll establish goals and outcomes. I’ll let you know upfront if I will be able to help you. If I am not the right therapist for you, I can refer you to a colleague who is better suited.
Once you commit to therapy, we will meet regularly at the scheduled time. I’ll listen to your story and help you identify blind spots and self-defeating behaviors that may interfere with your happiness. I will also teach you skills to help you manage your anxiety and discomfort between sessions. Simply being listened to, encouraged, and respected will increase your feelings of well-being and ease.

There are many schools of approach to psychotherapy. My approach tends to be eclectic: psychodynamic, supportive, existential, cognitive-behavioral, and practical. Each client is unique, and I will develop a plan based on your specific needs.
